Our Non-GMO Promise
GMO stands for genetically modified organism. In agriculture, this typically refers to plants whose genetic material has been altered in a laboratory using biotechnology—often by introducing DNA from an unrelated species—to achieve traits such as herbicide tolerance or pest resistance.
Non-GMO seeds are produced through traditional plant breeding methods, including controlled cross-pollination and selection over generations. These methods have been used safely for centuries and remain the foundation of home gardening and organic agriculture.
At Imagine Seeds, we believe gardeners deserve transparency, integrity, and confidence in what they plant. That’s why every seed variety we offer is non-GMO and carefully selected to meet high standards for quality, performance, and reliability. We do not buy, sell, or offer genetically modified seed varieties.
Our seed offerings consist of:
- Open-pollinated varieties
- Heirloom varieties
- Non-GMO hybrids developed through conventional breeding
We focus on varieties that deliver dependable germination, strong early growth, and proven garden performance across a wide range of growing conditions. Every variety we offer is chosen intentionally—not simply to expand a catalog, but to provide gardeners with seeds they can trust.
Furthermore, many of our seed packets are labeled organic and comply with USDA organic standards through certification overseen by Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO)—an internationally recognized organic certification body and USDA-accredited certifier.
Our organic seed packets are produced and labeled in compliance with OTCO regulations, including adherence to organic handling, labeling, and record-keeping requirements. This ensures that when you see an organic designation on an Imagine Seeds packet, it reflects verified compliance with recognized organic standards.
