Black Beauty Zucchini is an heirloom summer squash prized for its productivity, tender texture, and rich flavor. These plants produce glossy, dark green fruits with creamy white flesh that shine in sautéed, baked, or fried dishes. Harvesting at 6–8" delivers peak quality, though fruits can grow much larger if left on the plant. Suitable for home gardens and prolific through the season.
We ship to the Continental U.S. and Alaska only. We cannot ship to Hawaii, overseas U.S. military bases, or U.S. territories.

Growing Information
Planting
- Direct sow seeds outdoors after frost when soil temperatures reach at least 65°F.
- Space seeds 24–36" apart in rows or hills, allowing room for the mature spread.
- Plant seeds 1" deep in well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter.
- Expect germination within a week and first harvests in 60–70 days.
- Provide full sun and warm conditions for best growth and fruit set.
- Water regularly at the base of the plant to reduce the risk of foliar disease.
Maintenance
- Plants reach a mature height of about 24–36" with a similar spread, requiring ample space and airflow.
- Maintain consistent moisture to support steady fruit production and prevent stress.
- Mulching helps retain soil moisture and suppress weeds around the base of the plant.
- Remove overgrown fruits promptly to encourage ongoing flowering and higher yields.
Harvest & Storage
- Harvest fruits when they reach 6–8" long for the best flavor and texture.
- Larger zucchini up to 18–24" may still be usable but are less tender.
- Cut fruits from the plant with a sharp knife or pruners to avoid stem damage.
- Store harvested zucchini in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For longer storage, blanch and freeze sliced zucchini for later use.
